Project 3- Shapes

Shapes
From the article make sure you understand the following:
Shape in photography has several different elements — and not the different shapes you learn in elementary school. In photography, shapes can be categorized a few different ways:
Geometric: Geometric shapes have straight, defined edges. In photography, these types of shapes are most common in man-made structures, such as architectural photography.
Organic: Organic structures are full of curves and may not be geometrically perfect. These types of shapes are often most found in nature, the curve of a flower petal, for example.
Positive: A positive shape is what we think of first when we think of a shape. A positive shape is the shape made by an object.
Negative: A negative space is the space leftover — or where the objects in the photo aren’t. A negative space is the crack in a canyon wall, for example, or a shape created from the outline of two positive spaces.
Hint for Friday: What are the 4 different shape categories?
For this assignment you will be looking for interesting compositions of 2 different shapes: GEOMETRIC and ORGANIC.
For geometric shapes you will need to find 5 different windows and 5 different doors. Check out the windows and doors in your home (taking pictures from the inside and or outside) and looking for interesting ones in your neighborhood (if you take a walk) from the outside. The compositions must be interesting. Also, you might want to shoot different details of the doors and windows to use later.
For organic shapes you will need to find 5 different organic shapes. Look in your fridge for fruits of vegetable or go outside and look for rocks or leaves. Please do this only if you are going for a walk. NO CLOUDS- this is Project 4.
Use natural light (otherwise if you don't, you will need to make your images black and white.) Look for interesting streams of light and shadows.

For this Project you will take photos of:
5 Different Windows*
5 Different Doors or Entryways (hallways and  entries to rooms) *
and 5 Different Organic Shapes

Edit in Lightroom Classic or LR CC on your phone if you took it on your phone with the LR app.

* does not need to include people or pets but can.
Post and publish these 15 images with TITLES to you new page Shapes.
