Dorthea Lange and COVID-19

In the 1930 the Great Depression tested the communities in the United States. One photographer  who was there to document the travesties of the Depression was Dorthea Lange. She was able to g=create images that not only captured the fragile human spirit but also the LOVE that communities have for one another. With her image Migrant Mother, aid was sent to those in the West who were in need, Without this photo there would not have been any evidence of how severe the time were.

Migrant Mother, 1936.

This week I am asking you to create your own images to document what COVID-19 has done in your own community. Please watch the video (review of who Dorthea Lange was).

Below are images Dorthea Lange took in 1930. For this exercise you will create your own images
that reflect the thoughtfulness of documenting what is important today during our time of COVID-19.

Look at the images below and find some similarities. These images, although emotional, give me hope that we will weather this storm together. You will be taking images to post to new weebly page titled COVID-19 Week 1 or you can submit to google classroom. You do not have to do both.
