Flatlay Photography

This week I will be asking you to due an optional photo shoot in which you create a flatlay of a collection of like objects or objects when placed together tell a cohesive story. The objects have to be 2 or more for this to work well. As always no brands can be seen in the images (copyright infringement). An example would be my son's plastic dinosaurs. I can arrange them standing up or lying flat. I can use the grass outside or I can use white paper like a Lightbox (ironed sheets work but NO towels). Use portrait mode on you phone to see how selective focus blurs out the background. Remember that these photos are taken from above the objects (but take a few from the side as well). Have fun!

For this optional assignment, you will create 2 different flatlay themes and photograph them from above in different arrangements. In the end you will need at least 4 photos (please edit the best you can within in the camera you are using) of each flatlay theme, title them and tell me in a short 5 sentence artist statement why the objects are important to you. Please post to your weebly under a new page Flatlay. (If you do not have a weebly you can create this assignment in google docs and submit via Google Classroom).
